Is this a bug or not? If not, why should plain TeX behave so inconsistently? $$\mathop{\rm holim}\limits_\longrightarrow$$ Putting braces round \longrightarrow cures the problem. In what way is this `inconsistent'? What would you _expect_ the following to do: \def \abc {abc} $$\mathop{\rm holim}\limits_\abc$$ Philip Taylor, RHBNC ------------------------------ Date: 16 Aug 1993 17:00:16 -0000 From: Mike Piff Subject: RE: Plain TeX bug, or just anomalous behaviour? %>In what way is this `inconsistent'? What would you _expect_ the %>following to do: %> %> \def \abc {abc} %> $$\mathop{\rm holim}\limits_\abc$$ You know, I never noticed before that in x_y, y is a CHARACTER!! I expected y to be the next token or { } group, and in several years' use it has always worked out that way. "Inconsistent" referred to the way _ behaved as opposed to macro parameter absorption. Mike ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Aug 1993 17:12:46 -0100 From: Peter J Knaggs Subject: emTeX remove files I have noticed that in the Aston `bonus' disks, the packages come complete with emTeX remove files. Is there an easy way of creating these files, or must it b e done by hand? Peter J Knaggs Computing Science, University of Paisley ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Aug 1993 17:24:27 -0100 From: Peter J Knaggs Subject: Ms-Dos DVIPS and emTeX font-substitution I am using the verion of DVIPS bundled with the Aston emTeX distribution (DVIPS 5.482). I have found the undocumented configuration option (L) for using emTeX's font libraries (.fli) files, more by luck than 'out else. However, I was wandering if it can also use the font substitution files used by the emTeX drivers, or do we have to bild the fonts on request?
