Activity tables in the Stardust portal display available information
on activities in the Stardust runtime environment.

In the toolbar for activities selected in the table, the following actions are available depending on the view the activity table is displayed in.
Selecting one or more activity(ies) in the table is done by clicking directly on the according row(s). For details on selecting rows in tables, refer to chapter Selecting Rows in a Table.

You have the option to select the columns to be displayed in
the table and reorder them. Click the Select Columns
icon
to open
the Select Columns dialog, which is described
in detail in chapter
Selecting and Reordering Columns in Tables.
The column selection preferences set for an activity table applies to all newly opened activity views except the Process Search view. The Process Search view Activities table has its independent column selection.

You can export Activity tables to a CSV file. Click one of the
/
icons in the toolbar. Please refer to chapter
Exporting Table Content
for details on exporting table content.
In case you have the permission to delegate the selected activities
to other users, the Delegate icon
in the
toolbar is enabled. Please refer to section
Authorization of chapter
Specifying Activity Properties
in the
Business Process Modeling Handbook
for detailed information on this permission.
To delegate the selected activities, click the Delegate button. This will open the Delegation Dialog, where you can choose the user(s) or role(s) you want to delegate the activity to.

To abort activities, select them in the Select part
and click the abort icon
on top of the
Activities table.

Refer to chapter Aborting Activities for details about the aborting functionality and on authorization requirements.
To abort multiple activities, press Ctrl and select the activities in the table.
To open the Abort menu with the different abort options,
click the
icons next to the Abort icon in the toolbar.

The available options are described in detail in section Aborting Activities from an Activity Table in chapter Aborting Activities.
In case you have the permission to modify activity instances, you can change the priorities for activity instances in activity tables. Please refer to section Authorization of chapter Specifying Activity Properties in the Business Process Modeling Handbook for detailed information on setting security permission for modifying activity instances.
To modify the priority, click the
arrow on the right side of the priority and select one of the predefined priorities
High, Normal and Low.

It is also possible to select more than one activity, the actions invoked in the toolbar will then be applied to all activities.
To save the changed priorities, select the Save
Priority Changes icon
in the toolbar.
A notification dialog opens to list the priority modifications.

Activity tables display details about activity instances and provides actions on those.
The following details are available depending on the view, in which the table is opened:

Some columns are displayed by default, some additional columns can be added via the Select Column filter, described in the section Column Selection and Reordering.
Activity tables provide sorting and filtering as described in the following sections.
The table may be sorted by any sortable column by clicking the sort icon
in the column header.
The table data can be toggled between ascending and descending order when the sort icon is
clicked.

If the
is
available for a column, you can set a filter on this column.
Select the filter icon
to open the filter dialog, as described in section
Filtering Data Entries
of chapter Filtering and Sorting Data Entries.
A special case are the <custom descriptor> columns. Worklists can be sorted and filtered on descriptors, if they either contain only activity instances from one process definition or process definitions with descriptors based on the same data. Please note that these columns cannot be sorted or filtered on descriptor values, in case the descriptor for all listed process definitions or activities pertaining to process instances is based on different data or attributes.
To view the details about an activity and its according process instance, click on the activity name.

This column displays the criticality category of the activity instance as icon. By default, criticality is of three types and it is indicated in colored flags:



To view the criticality value, move the mouse over the criticality flag in the Criticality column. The criticality category and value get displayed as tooltip text for the selected criticality.

In case the criticality contains an invalid value for category, the following
icon is displayed:

In the Descriptors column, all descriptors of the process the activity belongs to, with the exception of descriptors based on Document data, are displayed.
For details on descriptors, please refer to section Using Descriptors of chapter Configuring Data Paths in the Business Process Modeling Handbook.
You can add a separate column for each available descriptor. Open the column selector dialog as described in chapter Selecting and Reordering Columns in Tables and select the descriptor. The column uses the name of the according descriptor.
For example select a descriptor named ProductName in the column selector.

Descriptors that are based on Document Data, which could be specific documents or process attachments configured as descriptors, are displayed in separate columns. The according descriptor name appears as the column header. The column entry displays the Document name preceeded by the appropriate MIME type icon.

Clicking on the Document entry opens the Document in the Document Viewer.

You have the option to determine that descriptors, which have no values should not be displayed. This option can be set in the Configuration View. Please refer to chapter Configuring Workflow Execution for details.
The Business Date descriptor is created implicitly when a process or an activity of the Model & Go! perspective is initialized. It displays for processes of the Model & Go! perspective only. You find this descriptor in the general Descriptors column.

If you like the business date to display in a separate column, select Business Date from the Select Column dialog.

Select the Benchmark column, from the Select Column dialog, if not displayed in the activities table. It displays a benchmark category flag for each activity instance, if benchmarks are defined.

To view the benchmark category tooltip, hover the mouse over the benchmark flag in the Benchmark column.

Click the sort icon
to sort the
benchmarks. Benchmarks are sorted by value and not by color across all benchmarks. For
more information, please refer to chapter
Filtering and Sorting Data Entries.

The Actions column provides actions for the according activity instance.

Apart from the actions for viewing notes and process documents, a menu is available where you can select other actions from. To open this menu, click the ... entry.

The following actions are available depending on the according view the table is displayed in:
Section Restrictions for Case Activity Instances describes restrictions on actions for Case activity instances.
To invoke the Process Details view for an activity instance, select the
Process Details entry in the Actions column drop-down list.
Please refer to chapter Viewing Process Details for detailed information on this view.
Option
Process Summary opens the Process Summary view. Please refer to chapter
Viewing the Process Summary
for detailed information on this view.
To activate an activity, select the
Activate entry in the Actions column drop-down list.
In case you have the permission to delegate the according activity to other users, the Delegate option is enabled in the menu of the Actions column. Please refer to section Authorization of chapter Specifying Activity Properties in the Business Process Modeling Handbook for detailed information on this permission.
To delegate an activity, select the
Delegate entry in the Actions column menu.
The Delegation Dialog opens, where you can choose a user. Please refer to chapter Delegating Activities for detailed information on delegating activities.
To abort an activity, click the
Abort entry in the Actions column drop-down list.
Refer to chapter Aborting Activities for details about the aborting functionality and on authorization requirements.
To open the Abort Menu click the
icon next to the
Abort entry. The menu provides the following options:
In case you want to abort the process instance the activity belongs to and start another process, click the Abort Menu entry in the Actions column drop-down list and select Abort Process and Start. Please refer to chapter Aborting a Process and Starting a new Instance for details.

In case you want to abort the process instance the activity belongs to and join another process, click the Abort Menu entry in the Actions column drop-down list and select Abort Process and Join. Please refer to chapter Aborting and Joining Processes for details.

In case you want to pause the process instance the activity belongs to and start another process, click the Abort Menu entry in the Actions column drop-down list and select Pause Process and Start. Please refer to chapter Pausing a Process and Starting a new Process for details on this option.

To relocate an activity, select the
Relocate
entry in the Actions column drop-down list.

To view or add new notes pertaining to the according activity,
click the Notes icon
in the Actions
column.
Please refer to chapter Adding and Viewing Notes for detailed information on adding and viewing notes.
To view which documents belong to the process of an activity, click the
icon.
A list opens, which displays all process attachments, specific documents and correspondence of the process the activity belongs to.

If the process supports process attachments, the Process Attachments folder displays at the top of the menu. Process Attachments are listed under this folder starting with the oldest document at the top and the newest at the bottom.
Clicking a document opens it in the appropriate Document viewer.

If specific documents are configured, the Specific Documents node displays below the process attachments. For details on specific documents, please refer to section Specific Documents of chapter Viewing and Managing Process Documents.
Specific Documents are listed under this folder in the order in which they are set up in the model, for example the data path sequence.
Clicking a document opens it in the appropriate Document viewer.

In case correspondence has been created for the process the activity belongs to, a Correspondence folder is displayed containing the correspondence documents.

To view a correspondence, click its node. A viewer opens, which displays the correspondence in read-only mode.

To open each document in its own viewer, click the Open all Documents option.

Note that the following actions are not allowed on a default case activity instance:
Activity state change is initiated internally only.
Note: Case activities do not appear in assembly line mode. For the default case activity the following message gets displayed in that case.
In case the default case activity is in assembly line mode, the following message dialog opens:

The action icons are disabled for default case activity instance.
